Du nervst mich! — German for “You’re getting on my nerves!” — is a playful exploration of frustration, mental overload and those moments when someone tests the very limits of our patience.
Combining vintage anatomical illustrations, architectural imagery, bold paper cut-outs and comic-book graphics, the artwork transforms the familiar experience of irritation into a surreal visual narrative.
A brain suspended from an industrial hook suggests the exhausting demands placed on our minds, while a clenched fist bursts through a colourful comic-book explosion. A pointing finger, an oversized eye and a fragmented skull introduce a sense of scrutiny, pressure and psychological overload.
The bright pink background creates a deliberate contrast with the darker imagery, bringing humour and absurdity to an otherwise uncomfortable emotion.
Through the juxtaposition of playful and unsettling elements, Du nervst mich! celebrates the messy, imperfect side of being human.
Because sometimes, no matter how patient or reasonable we try to be, people simply get on our nerves.
