Bold & Rebellious: A Kirchner-Inspired Paint Night!
Dive into the bold, graphic world of Ernst Ludwig Kirchner at our dynamic 3-hour Paint Night event! Explore the rebellious genius of this key figure of German Expressionism and co-founder of Die Brücke (The Bridge), and then unleash your own inner artist to create a unique, take-home artwork inspired by his iconic, visceral use of color and jagged forms.
Join us for an evening of artistic provocation and raw expression! You’ll journey through Kirchner’s incredible artistic vision, from his passionate, chaotic scenes of city life and intimate studio studies to his revolutionary distortion of form and electric, non-naturalistic color palettes.
Lillian will guide you through the principles of his innovative approaches, helping you understand how he sought to paint the raw emotion and “inner life” of his subjects rather than polite appearances. Get ready to experiment with dramatic, simplified figures, angular rhythms, and bold, subjective colors—no “perfect” replication needed, just pure Expressionist freedom!
